New website, who dis!? (last post)

Dear readers… 

This will be my last post on this blog.

But, this isn’t goodbye.

For the past few years, I have shared my passion for all things digital wellness, digital minimalism, and my journey towards developing a healthier tech-life balance right here at this tiny corner of the Internet.

I killed my phone. I quit social media for three years. I challenged myself to put my devices away at 8pm for a month. I radically changed my relationship with technology.

What started as a personal journey has grown into something bigger. I’m now practising as a digital wellness coach with one simple goal: to help others (re)discover the pleasures of the offline world.

In September, I enrolled in a digital wellness coaching training course from Consciously Digital, the only ICF-certified digital wellness course. I will be officially certified in March 2021!

I even joined Instagram. *gasp!* People who need to hear the message of digital wellness the most would be on social media, right? (p.s. Instagram’s addictive design is REAL and I hate it there, but bigger plans.)

31-day challenge of no devices after 8 PM

A new month, like the new year, brings about new possibilities and opportunities to commit to a habit change.

Towards the end of last May, I committed to follow a morning and night routine for 31 days to bring about a much needed structure to my days in quarantine. A relatively simple change to my daily routine automatically snowballed into other positive habits.

Within a week, I decided to give up alcohol until my birthday, which was 25 days away. I was drinking almost every day since the quarantine began, and quitting alcohol was a much needed break.

Imagine this.

The year is 2020. A flu virus, the deadliest in history, by the name of coronavirus (COVID-19) has infected and wiped out 99.9 percent of the world population.

At the same time, aliens decide to pay our planet a visit. At arrival, they find the streets strangely quiet, shops, restaurants, cafes, and stores shut down. As they make their way from one house to the next, the aliens discover bodies after bodies. What’s more strange is the piles of items, labeled toilet paper, they discover in every house.

Lessons from two and a half years without social media
